ACADEMICS

Enrichment Programs

Readers' Rule

This excellent academic enrichment program encourages children to read as many books possible throughout the school year.  Since inception, HCA students have collectively read 15,000 books!  Positive reinforcement is rewarded weekly during our morning assembly.

Feast of Hope

HCA families are invited to watch students from all grade levels participate in a Thanksgiving program that embodies Christian principles.  After the presentation, HCA families and students break bread just as our forefathers did.

Field Trips

Throughout the school year, HCA faculty and students travel offsite to visit venues designed to expand their cultural awareness.  Educational trips that support this objective include, but are not limited to petting zoos, aquariums, museums, and libraries.

Black History Month in February

HCA partners with a nearby retirement home, Riderwood Village, in an annual program and "Wax Museum."  Students portray historic characters that come to life in a wax museum one-on-one to impart knowledge about their character's contribution to American History.  This his well received intergenerational program helps to develop leadership, awareness and compassion.

Evening of the Arts

HCA families are invited to the Annual Evening of the Arts Program where students showcase their talents in music, song, poetry, dance and fine arts!

Acts of Kindness

Character Education focuses on the heart of the child. If our students are to bear fruit tomorrow, we must plant the seeds in their hearts today. Everyone in the HCA family is expected to be kind and compassionate towards one another; however, for a prescribed period that spans nearly 60 calendar days, children are encouraged to conscientiously practice random acts of kindness on campus and away from school. Students with the top 2 numbers of acts of kindness are positively rewarded.

Fantastic Friday!

Fridays at Hope Christian Academy are highly anticipated and very exciting! From the morning assembly and the Readers’ Rule Program to the JumpBunch Fitness Program and arts and crafts in the afternoon, your child is sure to finish the week on a high note!
